Coremas Polaris Italia – Sogese Merger: CISCO Talks About Us!
Coremas Polaris Italia and Sogese merge to create a single hub for maritime container services
The word is out about us!
The merger between Coremas Polaris Italia and Sogese is now a reality, and the magazine in which we are a partner, through the International Center for Container Studies (CISCO), also reports on this development. A strategic step to offer even more efficient services in the world of maritime containers, refrigerated cells, housing modules and shelters.
“On November 27, 2024, the merger by incorporation of Coremas Polaris Italia into Sogese was formalized at the office of Notary Giovannini in Livorno. The extraordinary transaction is part of the strategic plans defined by management as early as the end of 2023, which were then only realized in November 2024. Therefore, as of January 1, 2025, Coremas Polaris Italia will cease to exist and its activities will be totally acquired by Sogese (www.sogeseitalia.it), which will consequently take over relations with stakeholders. The operation is aimed at a rationalization of costs and activities, through a more efficient organization managed by departments and responsibility centers, limiting as much as possible the bureaucratic requirements that two separate realities entail. With the aforementioned merger, a hub is created for a whole range of services revolving around the maritime container and activities dedicated to it. The new entity will operate through four precise business units:
1)Rental and sale of sea containers to support intermodal logistics. This business unit is dedicated to the procurement of ISO standard and Special Purpose maritime containers and subsequent sale or rental to maritime operators such as shipping companies, freight forwarders or NVOCCs.
2)Rental and sale of refrigerated cells and housing modules. As far as cold storage rooms are concerned, these are temperature-controlled modular warehouses serving markets and companies that require support for temporary or permanent storage of perishable or temperature-sensitive goods and materials. Housing modules allow the creation of temporary or permanent facilities, following a modular logic, and can be used for recreational or work activities.
3)Maritime container storage services. All storage, handling, appraisal and repair operations of dry or refrigerated sea containers on behalf of shipping companies and other intermodal operators are handled by Sogese personnel within its warehouses in Melzo and Livorno.
4)Shelter and Cabin design and production. This is one of the business units dedicated to the transformation of maritime containers into “Shelters.” In fact, the maritime container represents the optimal means to manage intermodal logistics even when this requires that the container be prepared and modified to house technological apparatus that requires cooling systems, special capacities, and a structure that guarantees the apparatus a plug & play functionality directly inside the container modified.
Thus, from the merger, not only a rationalization of costs but also an operational and commercial organization that is clearer and more efficient and that can develop with the customer a more orderly communication centered on his specific needs.”
